The boiler water pressure switch is used to measure the pressure of the boiler water, to prevent it from dropping below a certain level and thus avoid malfunctions and anomalies. This device works like a switch which however does not allow measurements to be taken, like the pressure gauge, but allows you to ascertain that the pressure is not below a threshold generally attested to 0.5 bar. If it goes below this value the water flow stops and the boiler stops working.

Another function of the water pressure switch is to notify the boiler when it can start heating. Every time one of the taps is opened in the house, the pressure is reduced and the membrane inside the pressure switch moves and warns the boiler that it is time to heat the water. It is the internal membrane that regulates the pressure of the pressure switch and its variation could cause damage to the system.
